The Winter Solstice is traditionally the most important festival of the year as it marks the birth of the Solar Child. Many traditions celebrate Children's Day to honor our children and bring warmth, light and cheerfulness into the dark time of the year. The Winter Solstice is a time of affirming faith in the re-emergence of earthly life in the Spring, and also, symbolically, in the soul's survival beyond death.

The Winter Solstice is the deepest and most reflective time of the year and marks a crucial point in the natural cycle of life. This a most powerful time to meditate and do ritual, as the days near the Solstice are the most mystical of the year. The sun begins anew its journey toward longer days, times of new growth and renewal of the world once again. It is time to deepen and reflect on all that we have learned during the last nine months, since the previous Spring Equinox, that in order for a new path to begin, the old one must end -- This is Our completion time... in preparation for Our Re-birth.
